INTRODUCTION TO TAI CHI AND GRANDMASTER GARY KHOR

Grandmaster Gary Khor is the founder/president of the Feng Shui Academy of China and the Australian Academy of Tai Chi. Often referred to as the "Father of Tai Chi in Australia", he has trained more than 1000 instructors and taught more than 200,000 students in the last 29 years. Branches of the Academy are spread throughout Australia. An Internationally recognised speaker and writer he has produced numerous books and video tapes. He has featured prominently on the Chinese cultural & health scene since 1976, and has appeared regularly on TV, radio , newspapers and magazines. His work is also highly respected in China.

Grandmaster Khor trained in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and the U.S.A. His international credentials include officiating as a Competition Judge at the 2nd Asian Wushu Championships, Gold Medal Winner at China's 1985 Wushu Championships, and was the Australian representative at the International Wushu Conference. He holds a Diploma of International Wushu and Tai Chi Judge (China), Certificates from Beijing Institute of Physical Education and the Shanghai Institute of Physical Education, a Certificate with the Australian Council for Health, P E & Recreation.

Grandmaster Khor runs a Tai chi class here in the Canada Bay Club every Wednesday at 10.30am. Exercises taught includes Relaxation from Stress, Fall Prevention, treatment for Arthritis, Diabetes, Asthma, Cardiac problems, Stiff Joints.
