If you live in and around the inner west area, the Canada Bay Club is your home away from home.
"We look forward to seeing you soon!"
The Canada Bay Club has capped a stellar past twelve months by taking out the Club of the Year title at the ClubsNSW Awards for Excellence overnight at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre Darling Harbour. It follows the nomination of CEO Maureen Heywood for the 2009 NSW Woman of the Year award in March. It's been a rapid rise to the top for the club formerly known as the Western Suburbs Soccer Club, which won its first ever industry award last year. In addition to taking out the Club of the Year title, Canada Bay Club also won awards for Outstanding Financial Management and Best Club Keno. CEO of ClubsNSW David Costello said "At a time when the industry is struggling, the future of the Canada Bay Club is very bright. The Club has ensured it has staff of the highest caliber. It has also done the hard work, ensuring it has a detailed understanding of who their members are and what they want from the Club". In addition to its three awards, the Canada Bay Club was also recognised for its outstanding community service with a Highly Commended from the judges. The Club last year donated 50% more to local community groups than required by law. Recipients of the Club's support included the Balmain Hospital Auxiliary, Rotary Clubs, St Mary's Primary School, Concord Hospital and Alzheimer's NSW. "Winning Club of the Year is an amazing achievement and one that could only have been made possible by the support of the Board of Directors, dedication of my management and staff, supported by our members and visitors," said Maureen Heywood, Canada Bay Club CEO. The Canada Bay Club was also finalists in Best Casual Dining, Best Human Resources, Best Gaming and Best Club Entertainment. CANADA BAY MAKES CLUB HISTORY
